Docking

Postby twindlesbeethoven » Fri Jul 02, 2010 12:09 am

I have heard today that moves are afoot to start dialogue with the new government to repeal the docking ban.
This is great news, I am awaiting more information as to what is exactly happening (I believe that a petition is being organised as part of it) and I will post it here when I do.
This site always has and always will support the painless legal docking of tails on three day old puppies.
I know the coalition are already considering a repeal of the hunt ban due to the fact that we are now over run by foxes and another child has been injured by one.
So it would not be outside the realms of possibility that Docking could be re introduced.
Let's hope that this new government sees sense and adds the docking ban to the ever growing list of useless laws thrust upon us by thirteen years of Communist (oops I meant Nu Labour) rule.
Watch this forum for more news as it comes in.

I have been contacted by Peter Squires of The Council Of Docked Breeds (like me he is up late), it is they who are running this.
Here is what you all need to do.
1) They have a facebook page so if you are on FB click this link and then click the "LIKE" button to show your support.
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pag ... 2433121051
2) Show your support by signing the online petition
http://yourfreedom.hmg.gov.uk/repealing ... ng-of-dogs
The site is so popular it takes a while to load, please be patient.
I will be receiving regular updates as to where we are with the repeal and will be posting them on here.
Wouldn't it be great to have the ban lifted, that surely would stop the illegal practice of "tail fixing".
The animal rights activists who will dig into their benefit funded pockets to fight this have shot themselves in the foot already.
If you saw the BBC1 program tonight about the fox attack on those poor kids in London, I am sure that you like me were horrified to hear the abuse the family have been getting from animal rights activists.
It was great to see them named and shamed and for once the BBC doing the right thing by reporting it.
This will damage their already tainted credibility and must help us in our quest to repeal a law that was brought for political correctness and not for any animal welfare reasons.

hi mike

I think it is to do with nick clegg asking the public which laws want repealing and docking was one with fox hunting another

the funniest one was the law on gravity as it was unfair on larger people 8)

Yes that's right and the BBC prog last night at last showed the problems we face with foxes.
We are over run with them, never saw any before the hunt ban.
We will be helping the CDB (as we did before) to make the possible repeal known and get all docking supporters back on board.
One good thing would be that all this "tail fixing" might stop.
The CDB facebook site which started yesterday has increased by over 100% OVERNIGHT and I will continue to monitor their progress.

I think it's just great Tony, it's nothing new.
In New Zealand a while back they had several years of a Labour Government and when they were outed the incoming onedid something similar.
It proved to be very popular.
